Do you have to be skinny to belly dance?

There are still many hurdles to jump across. I believe that one day all people will have access to the same education and health services. But to date, my community’s health services have always been more for the wealthy and upper classes.

When did the decision to make it a lifestyle choice for the many become less of a decision for the few?

A long time ago, back when I was living in New York on the Upper West Side, I realized that my community was not as progressive on sexual health as I had thought. I have witnessed other people in my community get tested and have their reproductive organs removed through Planned Parenthood, yet I don’t see anything about it at my community services.

It took a little time and effort, but through my research, my blog and my friends, I have discovered that this could be a huge step forward, not just for me, but for others across the country. There are so many hurdles ahead of us. But as we take another step forward and make it easier for people to come out and become advocates for the rights of our community, we must also consider the lives that still aren’t.

When it comes to high-level languages, programming has two main categories: object-oriented versus functional. If you have some experience with either type of programming, chances are that you’re already familiar with the difference between the two languages. For those unfamiliar with the terminology, the words object and function are often used interchangeably, so it’s helpful to have a quick and simple dictionary.

Functional versus Object-Oriented — Object-Oriented and Functional

In many ways, computer programming seems like a straight-forward, simple way to program software. You start by programming a program that will generate an output (program code), then you write that output to a data channel, and finally you do the same thing again and again. When you get down to it, this seems like pretty straight-forward programming.

When it comes to the actual programming, however, things are a little bit more complex. A program written in one of these languages will typically have its own data structures and data types, which is great for those of us who don’t know everything about every library we need. But things can get confusing once we start implementing an API and using it in a variety of places. Then we need to figure out the correct method for using these different kinds of objects. When you learn that, you’ll notice that it’s not so simple
