A: Yes and no. Producer has a big role and I think the job is not only to produce, it has to be done with your eyes. It has to be done, and it has to be done with the kind of love, passion of a filmmaker.
Q: It has been written that you don’t really like movies.
A: No, I don’t really like movies. I’m an artist, I’m a writer. I like stories, I like writing films. I don’t know where it came from, you know?
Q: Do you want to work in Hollywood?
A: I definitely want to work in Hollywood. I know that’s what I want to do in my career, in my life but I’m also very young.
Q: Would you think it to be easier working in Hollywood if you’ve already got the Oscar?
A: It may be easier, but not necessarily easier. It’s not gonna bring the same kind of love and commitment and love-giving and, like I say, dedication and caring and dedication of a film and that you want. I really want to be there for the work.
Q: What’s your greatest accomplishment?
A: One of the coolest thing that happened was I just went to Toronto after work to see a film from the first Canadian festival, and it was just phenomenal, so in that sense it was like, “Wow, I’m going to have a lot of fun”.
Q: When do you think you’ll go through with those plans?
A new study is looking at the most effective way of keeping track of your sleep cycles for a whole year (more on that later). The idea is to understand the impact on mood and overall sleep throughout every day, and to plan the optimal time to wake up.
The results from a large, well-designed study are in; it looks like having a regular sleep pattern is a good idea, even if it gets more predictable and difficult to do on a regular basis. The researchers found that the most effective measure of sleep – known as sleep efficiency – correlated with people having more energy and lower levels of fatigue.
The results were published in the Journal of Applied Psychology.
