It’s really too early to say that the 2014-15 NBA season is shaping up to be a repeat of last season’s debacle. The league’s marquee teams haven’t been able to play with success over the past few weeks without breaking down.

What’s left is mostly a list of bad team names, bad signings and the worst trades made over the past two decades (thanks in no small part to LeBron James). Here’s a look at the Top 15 worst trades for every team.

16. 1996–97 Orlando Magic — Michael Jordan (14), Gary Payton (16), Brian Scalabrine (24), Dikembe Mutombo (38), Michael Redd (66), Steve Francis (100), Bob Myers (117) This trade was a disaster. One of the worst trades ever made. The Orlando Magic received Jordan, Payton, Mutombo, Scalabrine and an unspecified draft pick for the No. 12 pick in the 1996 draft. That’s right, the first pick of the 1996 draft, Dikembe Mutombo, was not traded anywhere at all! The Magic ended up missing out on having one of the top two players in rookie scoring history, Kobe Bryant, in his prime and for a fourth-round draft pick only. In return, they received a star point guard by the name of Michael Jordan, whose last name sounds like a French spelling of “pussy,” (who knows what the future held). To make matters worse, they also signed three players the previous summer — Dikembe Mutombo (who would later play for the Knicks) and Gary Payton, who would join the Bulls the following season.

15. 1994–95 Boston Celtics — Michael Jordan (8/17), Jason Kidd (25), Paul Pierce (51/5), John Havlicek (100) This was a disastrous deal, and one which probably doesn’t look good when you look more closely. The No. 1 overall pick in the 1994 draft was Boston’s only major asset at the time. The Celtics also didn’t have much to work with at the time. They traded their No. 2 pick in a weak draft for the No. 1 pick. They had no players to trade to make the deal happen. And they couldn’t even sign Jason Kidd. They ended up with the No. 7 pick that year, which was used to select Shaquille O’Neal
