What kind of Photoshop do professionals use? – Learn Photo Editing Techniques Lightroom 6

There’s a huge variety of tools and software for doing various types of photo manipulation. Photoshop’s interface can be confusing and intimidating for beginners, but I think most pro photographers are capable of using the software and understand what it can do – at least a little bit.

I’ve created a handy spreadsheet here to answer any questions you might have about Photoshop, Photoshop plugins, and other Adobe products for photo manipulation.

A Quick Explanation of Photoshop’s Interface

I think there are many different ways for creating an image or image series using Photoshop. I’ll call these different methods Image Types, and there’s a table where I’ll give these specific methods descriptions below.

You can see how many tools Photoshop has in each category. The following table tells you the overall Photoshop workflow for a range of image types, both for Photoshop CC and version 5.5.

(Macromedia Flash Professional) Image Editing Photoshop Elements (Macromedia Flash Pro) Lightroom Lightroom 6 Lightroom Plus (Macromedia Lightroom 5.0) Lightroom Plus and Adobe Photoshop Elements are very similar Lightroom Elements (Macromedia Lightroom 5.0) PhotoShop 5 and Adobe Photoshop Elements are very similar. With Photoshop CC, Photoshop Elements is also available for Mac OS X, which you can use with Lightroom. When Lightroom 6 is included in Lightroom 6, Photoshop Elements becomes Photoshop Elements, so Lightroom is now available to both Photoshop CC and Photoshop Elements users. However, Lightroom 6 includes some powerful enhancements with Lightroom 6 that will make it very useful for Photoshop – such as advanced effects, photo filters, special effects, post-processing (like image editing, effects on the background, etc.), and a huge amount of new, powerful new tools.

Photo Editing Photoshop Elements Lightroom Lightroom 6 Lightroom Lite (Macromedia Lightroom 5.0) Lightroom Lite can import most of the same images as Lightroom 6 and Lightroom Elements; however, some new effects have been added with this plugin, and some image editing tools remain in different categories (e.g. Image Manipulation and Effects).
