Soak the spiced herbs/spices in hot water.
I love to soak the spices for hours in hot water, but if you don’t have time, then just soak them for about 5 minutes. Add them the rice and the rice you are going to use, let it soak for about 15 minutes, then drain the water and add back to the spice oil.
Once you have added these ingredients to the seeds and the water, just let it sit for a couple of minutes before you stir to get the oil infused flavors into the spiced seeds. Once it gets infused it is like cooking with oil!!
