What is a healthy waist size? – Weight Loss Friendly Foods

A healthy waist size is one that can be measured and recommended as a target for healthy weight gain. It does not define your ideal size. Rather it simply helps you figure out how much of a larger or smaller waist you can really handle.

As you can see in the graph below, most of us find most or all of our size fits, no matter the size. This is because we tend to have wider hips and larger waist sizes.

The biggest problem I run into is my waist has shrunken to where I can actually put on 10, 10.5, 10.75 or more. You can see that by following the chart above.

It’s always best to start somewhere! You can also see the following are the best places to start your healthy weight journey.

1. Step 1 – Getting started with your food tracking app

First start downloading your nutrition app. There are dozens of options like MyFitnessPal, RunKeeper, Apple Health and so much more. These allow you to see your food intake, goals, calorie burn and health. They are great tools and can be quite addictive.

2. Step 2 – Getting your calorie intake adjusted into your desired weight

One thing that can make the process of tracking your weight loss difficult is your calorie intake. How much protein you eat is not the same as how much you burn. And calories burned is not the same as calories eaten. The more you lose, the more calories that you burn. So it can be very difficult to track your calorie burn accurately.

To track your calories properly – you need to use the MyFitness Pal app. It’s free, intuitive, and free to use. You can even try it out for free if you don’t want to waste a bunch of time and money. Just get it and try it out. When you’ve finished your first week, you can simply add that calorie tracking app’s calorie burn, weight and date to your calorie goal. You can also add a note to your food diary, just like in your Fitbit.

The benefits of this method are:

It’s cheap, free, and very effective.

You can add a note to your diary.

You don’t have to keep track of all those details if you don’t want.

3. Step 2 – Making sure you are at a healthy weight

Now that you’ve got your healthy weight goal, you don’t have to worry about weight management yet
