When to use the Diet Plan
Weight loss is largely determined by how much your body eats.
Weight loss goals (or the amount of weight you want to lose) vary by time frame, person, genetic makeup, and even by weight-training experience.
A couple of important points to remember:
Each person is different.
Body composition and genetics play the large-scale role in how much weight you want to lose.
When should I use the Diet Plan?
Each person is different. However, certain types of food that are easy to eat or that are high in water-soluble vitamins such as vitamin B12 are especially good for people with diabetes.
There are two key reasons to use the Diet Plan.
First, when you use the Diet Plan, you can focus specifically on things that can make you eat less: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, eggs, fish, nuts, seeds, and whole grains.
For someone with diabetes, these foods are not easy to eat, but they can be important for weight loss.
Second, this strategy can be good for all types of weight loss, not just those related to diabetes and obesity. This includes:
Dietary changes that don’t affect weight, but increase your metabolism and decrease your waistline
Dietary changes that increase your metabolism but decrease your waistline
Dietary changes that can help get your body moving and reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases
Why is the Diet Plan so important?
Weight loss is primarily about hunger, motivation, and physical activity. However, people with diabetes often struggle to lose weight.
The Diet Plan can help you achieve these goals by:
Using the Diet Plan consistently to reduce calorie intake (instead of eating one big meal and eating later)
Keeping your diet on track by eating less calories for longer than usual, which means eating fewer portions and less total calories
When you increase your calorie intake beyond what’s recommended by the USDA, you will gain weight.
The same is true for your diabetes. If your diabetes increases the risk for obesity, eating more calories may not be enough to prevent a BMI of more than 25.
So what can I tell my doctor about the Diet Plan?
It is important to talk about which food items are the best for weight loss, how much of these foods are important to your goals, and how they are
